Tears of a Rainbow

Poem

Straw - Prose

The poem "Straw" was written on a calm November day as I lazily sat in my swinging chair on the front porch. Sunrise had put a straw wreath she had decorated with festive Fall colors onto the front door as she does very much enjoy celebrating holidays.

As I sat gently swinging in the cool Autumn breeze that spoke gently passing through the Ponderosa Pines around our home, I considered what such a simple symbol might mean to different people as they approached my door. In doing so I redefined what a straw wreath means to me.

Now when I see a wreath upon a door I think of a peaceful Autumn afternoon full of contentment and creative pleasure.
